The JSFG, official Journal of the Intl Structural Genomics Organization, invites your papers!
September 04, 2015

Dear ISGO Members, ICSG 2015 attendees and Colleagues:

As you may know, the Journal of Structural and Functional Genomics is the official Journal of the International Structural Genomics Organization.

As Editors of the Journal of Structural and Functional Genomics we are writing to you to let you know of the continued and expanded scope of the Journal. We encourage you to submit your recent work in methods development and applications of protein structure and function analysis!

The scope of the Journal of Structural and Functional Genomics continues to include:
  • Determination of the three-dimensional structures of gene products including those with unknown biological functions
  • Research and new methodologies for structural genomics including informatics, protein sample production, and structure determination, including hybrid methods of structure determination
  • Experimental and structure-based functional analysis
  • Structural bioinformatics and function prediction from protein structure
  • Discussion of results of structural and functional genomics projects
The scope has been broadened to emphasize as well:
  • Applications and methods development for hybrid approaches to structure determination of complex systems
  • Methodologies spanning X-ray crystallography, cryoEM, NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and molecular modeling
  • Applications and methods development for structural bioinformatics, including function discovery from structural analysis, data base design, and data mining

The JSFG has a track record of rapid publication (average of 35 days for review and 11 days for on-line publication after acceptance) and high download rates (18204 downloads in 2014) and citations (equivalent impact factor of 1.3) Publication in the JSFG is free; Open Access can be requested for a fee.

The JSFG welcomes scientific articles in the following categories:
  • Original research articles
  • Reviews
  • Short Structure Notes, New Software Application Notes and Functional Characterization Notes
We will be looking forward to your articles in the JSFG!

Best regards,
The Editors of the JSFG
